Quick build speed was at the forefront of all those who participated on the Ikea Logan Project.

The professional team at Lainge O’Rourke was receptive to any ideas from industry that would assist in the timely completion of the project. It was essential for the building to be open for the Christmas trading period.

Literally as the roof went on, Ikea were filling shelves and constructing the massive showroom whilst works continued externally.

Aclad brought to the design table the ACLAD 2000 Dry Joint System. Originally the building was designed using a front sealed system; therefore the building would not be water tight until the last cladding panel was installed. With the Aclad 2000 Dry Joint System, the building was air sealed at a rate of 600 m2 per week, thus allowing the internal trades to proceed whilst Aclad installed the Alpolic Facade 2000 System to perfect alignment.

Summary – Laing O’Rourke contracted Aclad as the preferred installer based on sound systems advice and market reputation – Ikea completed on time and to budget.
